Anduril static-fires a solid rocket motor built with RTX for air-to-air weapons
Anduril IndustriesSolid rocket motors (McHenry, Mississippi)
Anduril static-fired a solid rocket motor it developed and built with Raytheon's Advanced Technology business for air-to-air weapons, with the Air Force Research Laboratory taking part. The motor uses a highly loaded grain, which packs significantly more propellant into the casing.
- The grain design draws on technology from Naval Air Weapons Station China Lake.
- The Mississippi plant is to reach 6,000 motors a year by end-2026.
- Separately, the Army chose Anduril in March 2025 for a 4.75-inch motor.
