Amca launches with $76.5M to buy and rebuild legacy aerospace suppliers, starting with Electro-Mech Components

Amca came out of stealth with $76.5M from Caffeinated Capital, Founders Fund, Lux Capital and Andreessen Horowitz. Its plan is to buy established aerospace and defense suppliers and use their know-how and customer ties, starting with Electro-Mech Components, a 60-year-old maker of cockpit control parts in South El Monte, California, that supplies Boeing.

  • Founded by Jai Malik and Eli Giovanetti, a former SpaceX production and engineering leader.
  • Based in El Segundo, California.
  • Targets mid-level parts such as sensors, power units and flight-control computers.
