Abbott presents Cancerguard data at AACR 2026 showing the value of combining DNA and protein signals
Abbott LaboratoriesCancerguard
In a case-control study, 47.1% of Cancerguard's positive signals came from DNA methylation alone, 7.4% from proteins alone and 45.5% from both, supporting the two-signal design. In long-term DETECT-A follow-up of more than 10,000 women, all eight people treated for stage I or II cancer were alive and cancer-free after a median of about four years.
- Positive signals: 47.1% methylation only, 7.4% protein only, 45.5% both.
- False-positive rate 2.6%, with no false positives on both signals at once.
- DETECT-A: 10,000+ women, nine cancer types found, ~4-year median follow-up.
- Cancerguard is not cleared or approved by the FDA.
