Current obstacles

Manufacturing at scaleRamping to 20,000+ units in 2026 while holding the $29,900 base price requires reliable supply chain and consistent quality.
Software and safetyGeneralizing the robot to diverse real-world tasks beyond demos requires robust perception, planning and safety algorithms.
Cost per unitAt $29,900, margins are thin. Further cost reductions depend on volume-driven manufacturing improvements and supply-chain optimization.

Physics limits

Battery energy densityLithium-ion chemistry limits runtime per kg of battery to ~250 Wh/kg. Longer tasks require either bigger, heavier batteries or on-robot charging.
Motor torque versus speedAchieving both high joint torque (for load and stability) and high speed (for task throughput) requires tradeoffs in motor design and power draw.
Dexterity costs computationFine manipulation with many degrees of freedom requires real-time perception and control algorithms that consume power and latency on the onboard compute.

How it works

4 parts

Bionic design

Human-like face and proportions

The H2 has a bionic human face with facial features, enabling human-robot interaction in research, education and consumer settings.

Actuators

Unitree's proprietary motors and reducers

The robot uses Unitree's vertically integrated motor and precision reducer technology, built in-house for control and reliability.

Compute

Modular AI compute

Standard Intel Core i5/i7 compute, with optional NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX modules for up to 2,070 TOPS of local AI inference.

Hands

Optional dexterous hands

H2 can be equipped with dexterous hands for manipulation tasks, or simpler end effectors for specific applications.
