A magnetic field confines fusion fuel (plasma) in a controlled shape, preventing it from escaping the reaction chamber.
High-powered pistons rapidly compress the magnetically-confined plasma and liquid metal liner to extreme densities and temperatures needed for fusion.
At sufficient temperature and density, fusion reactions occur, releasing energy that can be captured to generate power.
