Each key is created as separate shares on different machines (cloud, customer servers, phones); the full key is never assembled.
Shares compute a normal blockchain signature together. Fireblocks' MPC-CMP protocol needs one signing round, so it is fast enough for trading.
Shares and policy code run in encrypted hardware enclaves, so a hacker with full control of the server's operating system still cannot copy them.
Rules on amounts, destinations and approvers are checked first; shares refuse to sign anything the policy does not allow.
