The brief
- The R700 is a battery-electric Class 8 semi with 729 kWh battery, 416-mile range, and 1,400 hp, with 800V ultra-fast charging.
- Serial production began in April 2025 in Hubei Province, China, with deliveries starting in late 2025.
- US assembly at Aertssen facilities in Georgia and Washington is scheduled for end of 2026; raised $410M+ from major investors.
Technical approach
Large battery, fast charging
A 729 kWh pack on 800V platform charges 400 km in 35 minutes with megawatt-level chargers, enabling long-haul trucking with minimal rest.
Four independent motors
Four electric motors totaling 1,400 hp cut friction and transmission losses versus mechanical drivetrains.
Low drag reduces energy
A drag coefficient of 0.2755 cuts wind resistance, which is the dominant force on a truck at highway speed, and directly extends range per charge.
