Inertial drift in GPS-denied environmentsWhen DGPS signal is lost, the truck relies on inertial measurement units (IMUs) to estimate position. IMUs drift at a rate of about 1 km per hour of operation, eventually becoming unreliable.
Sensor range limits speed in poor visibilityDust storms, rain and fog reduce LiDAR and radar range. Safe autonomous speed must decrease when visibility is poor, limiting productivity in certain weather conditions.

Navigation

GPS and sensors guide the truck

High-precision DGPS positions the truck; radar and LiDAR detect obstacles. Real-time feedback lets the truck adjust speed and avoid collisions.

Coordination

Safe operation with manned equipment

Radio and proximity sensors communicate with loaders; geofences and speed limits apply near personnel. Remote override available.
