Zhanjiang hydrogen-based direct reduction facility construction completed

Construction of the Zhanjiang facility's electric furnace and continuous casting infrastructure was completed in October 2025, integrating with the hydrogen shaft furnace that had begun operation in December 2023. The integrated facility represents the first commercial-scale hydrogen-based direct reduction complex with electric smelting in the world.
