Zama raises $57M Series B at over $1B valuation and unveils its confidential blockchain protocol

Zama raised $57M led by Pantera Capital and Blockchange, valuing it above $1B, and described a protocol to add encrypted computation to existing blockchains. Host chains only track pointers to encrypted results, while coprocessors do the heavy maths and a split key controls decryption.

• Throughput at the time: about 20 transactions per second per chain.
• Roadmap: 50-100 TPS on GPUs, 500-1,000 on FPGAs, 10,000+ on custom chips.
• Mainnet on Ethereum promised within months, then other EVM chains and Solana.
