xAI expanded its Colossus training cluster in Memphis, Tennessee to 2 gigawatts total power with approximately 555,000 NVIDIA GPUs across three buildings. Colossus 2, the first gigawatt-scale single-site AI datacenter, came online with ~550,000 GPUs. The facility uses on-site natural gas turbines and Tesla batteries for power, bypassing grid limitations.
