U.S. Department of Energy approves Zap Energy's 50 MW fusion pilot plant preconceptual design

Zap Energy/Z-Pinch Fusion Power Plant

The U.S. Department of Energy approved Zap Energy's preconceptual design report for a 50 MW electrical fusion pilot plant as a milestone under the Milestone-Based Fusion Development Program. The approved design includes all major plant systems: liquid metal first wall and blanket, power supply, power conversion, tritium fuel cycle, control and safety systems, and remote handling and maintenance.
