THINK Surgical gets FDA clearance for TMINI handheld knee-replacement robot
The FDA cleared TMINI, a wireless handheld robot for total knee replacement. Using a CT-based 3D plan, the handpiece offsets the surgeon's hand motion so bone pins land on exactly defined planes for the cutting guides. THINK pitched its small footprint and open implant library as a way to bring robotics to more clinics and operating rooms.
- Wireless handpiece co-developed with Sagentia Innovation (Cambridge, UK).
- Designed to replace many instruments used in conventional knee replacement.
- Open implant library, initially with one implant partner; more to be added over time.
