Tempus Expands Role in Moderna and Merck Personalized Cancer Vaccine Commercialization
ModernaIntismeran autogene (mRNA-4157/V940)
Tempus AI announced a multi-year collaboration with Moderna and Merck to support the potential commercialization of intismeran autogene (V940/mRNA-4157), a personalized cancer vaccine administered with pembrolizumab (Keytruda). Tempus will coordinate collection and transfer of tumor tissue and blood samples for sequencing, and it will provide next-generation sequencing services to design and manufacture individualized treatments. The collaboration follows positive Phase III results in August showing the vaccine plus Keytruda met its primary endpoint in resected melanoma.
- Tempus will coordinate tumor and blood sample collection and transfer for sequencing under the expanded partnership.
- Tempus will provide sequencing services to identify mutations and design personalized vaccine components, subject to regulatory approval.
- The Phase III INTerpath-001 trial met its primary endpoint of recurrence-free survival in resected stage IIB–IV melanoma when the vaccine was combined with Keytruda.
- Moderna and Merck are evaluating the therapy in additional cancers: non-small cell lung cancer, renal cell carcinoma, and bladder cancer.
- Tempus separately announced it is acquiring Personalis, the company whose sequencing technology enabled the development of the cancer vaccine.
