Tempo mainnet launches with Machine Payments Protocol for autonomous agent payments

Tempo mainnet went live on March 18, 2026, enabling stablecoin payments with 0.6-second finality. The launch included the Machine Payments Protocol, an open standard that lets AI agents pay for services—compute, data, models—autonomously. Over 100 services were integrated in the Machine Payments Directory at launch.
