TAE says Da Vinci's key designs are done, with construction planned for 2026 and fusion power targeted for 2031
TAE Technologies says the key designs for Da Vinci, its first commercial-scale fusion power plant, are complete and that it plans to start construction later in 2026, aiming to produce fusion power in 2031. The site has not been announced; TAE says it is still in the siting process.
- TAE has built five generations of fusion machines over nearly 30 years, each meant to reduce risk for the next.
- The announcement gives no power output in megawatts or other performance targets for Da Vinci.
- Construction starting in 2026 is a plan, not yet begun, and depends on choosing and permitting a site.
