Solvay signs letter of intent to source Brazilian rare earth feedstock from Viridis by 2028

Solvay and Viridis Mining and Minerals signed a non-binding letter of intent for Viridis to ship rare earth feedstock from Brazil to La Rochelle by 2028. The material includes neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium and terbium, giving the plant a supply source outside China.
- Also covers samarium, gadolinium and yttrium.
- Solvay restated its plan for industrial-scale dysprosium and terbium separation by September 2026.
- The deal still needs definitive contracts and may not complete.
