Sinopec commences operations of world's largest green hydrogen plant at Kuqa in Xinjiang

Sinopec/Kuqa Solar-to-Hydrogen Plant

Sinopec announced that the Kuqa green hydrogen plant in Xinjiang commenced operations on July 3, 2023. The facility combines 300 MW of solar generation with 260 MW of alkaline electrolysers to produce green hydrogen from renewable electricity. Design capacity is 20,000 tonnes annually, with output supplied to Sinopec's Tahe refinery via pipeline.
