SEC approves Nasdaq's pilot for tokenized Russell 1000 stocks and ETFs trading on main order book

The SEC approved Nasdaq's proposal to permit certain securities to trade as blockchain-based tokens on Nasdaq's main order book, with clearing and settlement through the Depository Trust Company. Tokenized shares remain legal stocks with identical ticker, CUSIP and rights, trading alongside traditional shares at the same price. Russell 1000 stocks and major ETFs are eligible in the pilot.
