sBTC deposit cap to be removed on Sept 16; minimum deposit cut tenfold to 0.001 BTC

Stacks (Stacks Labs, Stacks Foundation)/sBTC (bitcoin on Stacks)

Stacks Labs announced the end of the 5,000 BTC ceiling, allowing unrestricted inflows and outflows for users and institutions from September 16, 2025. At the time sBTC held about $545M and had 7,408 holders.

• Minimum deposit lowered from 0.01 BTC to 0.001 BTC.
• Over 62 BTC had been paid out in rewards since launch.
• Rewards were expected to normalise as incentive programs wound down.
