Samsung becomes first to mass-produce HBM4 memory for AI accelerators and Vera Rubin

Samsung began mass-producing HBM4 (high-bandwidth memory) in February 2026, becoming the first supplier at scale. HBM4 operates at 10.7–11.7 Gb/s and is used in AI accelerators and the Vera Rubin Survey Telescope. Samsung projected a 28% share of the HBM4 market.
