Rivian opens invite-only Autonomy Early Access, with Point to Point driving due in December
Rivian has opened an invite-only Autonomy Early Access programme for owners of its second-generation R1 and R2 vehicles. Participants get pre-release Autonomy+ features, starting with Point to Point, which follows a navigated route under driver supervision. Early participants in California and Florida are due to get it in December 2026, with a broad rollout planned for 2027.
- Eligible owners need an active Autonomy+ subscription; free trials do not count, and Canadian owners are excluded.
- Rivian weighs how much owners use Autonomy features and their recent safety record, including forward collision warnings, and balances the group by region and model.
- Participants must use the features weekly, complete a monthly survey, share location and camera data, and sign an NDA; participation is unpaid.
- Rivian rechecks eligibility every 30 days and can remove anyone at any time.
- Rivian's Autonomy & AI Day on December 9 in San Francisco may be the next public look at the programme.
