OpenAI releases ChatGPT Images 2.5: up to 50% faster, more precise edits, and two API models, Flare and Sunburst

OpenAI released ChatGPT Images 2.5, which cuts waiting time by up to half compared with 2.0, edits only the selected part of an image, and keeps people and pets from reference photos consistent. It rolled out to all ChatGPT, ChatGPT Work and Codex users, with new Sketch, template and image-comment tools.

• API: GPT-Image-2.5 Flare (fast default) and GPT-Image-2.5 Sunburst (finer control for production work).
• Pricing unchanged from GPT Image 2: $30 per million image output tokens.
• Sketch turns a rough drawing into a finished image; comments can be pinned on an image as edit instructions.
