Oklahoma selected for EGA's planned $4 billion primary aluminium smelter

Oklahoma's governor and commerce department announced that EGA had chosen the Tulsa Port of Inola as its preferred site for the first new US primary aluminium plant in 45 years. The project was put at about $4 billion with 1,000 direct jobs, and depends on the state legislature approving the terms of an MOU signed on 21 April 2025.

  • Site: more than 350 acres in a 2,200-acre industrial park with rail, barge and waterway access.
  • About $4 billion; 1,000 direct and 1,800 indirect jobs.
  • Products: billets, sheet ingots, high-purity aluminium and foundry alloys.
  • Would nearly double domestic US aluminium production, the state said.
