Century Aluminum joins EGA's Oklahoma smelter as 40% partner; capacity raised to 750,000 tonnes

EGA and Century Aluminum signed a joint development agreement for the Inola smelter, with EGA holding 60% and Century 40%. The plant was enlarged to about 750,000 tonnes a year, more than double current US production, and would use EGA's EX technology. Construction was then expected to start by the end of 2026, with production by the end of the decade.
