OishiiAmatelas Farm

Oishii bought the AI models, robotics software and custom hardware of Tortuga AgTech, a Colorado startup whose robots picked strawberries and table grapes, and hired most of its engineers. Tortuga's technology is being merged into the picking robots Oishii built with Yaskawa, which already check each berry's ripeness before picking it.

  • Tortuga, founded in 2016, had spent about $50 million over eight years and fielded a fleet of 150 robots
  • Oishii's Amatelas Farm runs about 50 robots
  • Oishii aims to cut harvest costs by 50%; terms were not disclosed
