NVIDIA releases CUDA-Q Logical to compile and plan error-corrected quantum computers

NVIDIACUDA-Q and NVQLink

At IEEE Quantum Week in Toronto, NVIDIA added CUDA-Q Logical to its open quantum platform. It takes programs written for error-corrected logical qubits and compiles them down to error-correction routines, pulse schedules and real-time control plans, while estimating the full hardware a machine would need.

  • Fermilab cut fault-tolerant resource modelling from five months to three weeks.
  • Iceberg Quantum and Diraq: 1,000 logical qubits from 150,000 physical, about 10x less overhead.
  • IQM's 150-qubit Halocene couples to a GPU decoder in under a microsecond over NVQLink.
  • Sandia and Quantinuum found a gap of about five orders of magnitude between Helios-1 and utility targets.
