NVIDIA introduces NVQLink to connect quantum processors to GPU supercomputers, with 17 QPU builders and 9 US labs
At GTC Washington, NVIDIA introduced NVQLink, an open architecture that links quantum processors to GPU supercomputers. Qubits are fragile and need constant calibration and error correction, which demands a fast, high-bandwidth link to classical computers; developers reach NVQLink through NVIDIA's CUDA-Q software.
- Backed at launch by 17 quantum processor builders and 5 control-system builders, including Quantinuum, IonQ, Pasqal, Rigetti, Keysight and Quantum Machines.
- US national labs involved include Brookhaven, Fermilab, Berkeley Lab, Los Alamos, Oak Ridge, Pacific Northwest and Sandia.
- Aimed at control, calibration, error correction and hybrid quantum-classical work in chemistry and materials science.
