NVIDIA joins the EU's AI in Science initiative with open models, free training and compute routes

NVIDIA

NVIDIA is joining the European Commission's AI in Science Enablers Initiative, announced at the AI in Science Summit in Dublin and linked to RAISE, the Resource for AI Science in Europe. Its contribution aims at researchers, science startups and SMEs, with open tools, free courseware and routes to European compute.

  • NVIDIA says it has released over 250 open models, 250 open datasets and more than 1,400 open-source software projects.
  • The Deep Learning Institute has launched an open-source courseware hub; materials are free and openly licensed, with no enrollment fees or deadline.
  • With cloud partners and national AI factories in France, Spain and Sweden, it is working to give startups and SMEs routes to European compute.
  • The page cites 35 supercomputers in development across Europe, which it calls the largest single-year supercomputing buildout in the region's history.
