NVIDIA announces Isaac GR00T N1.6, adding Cosmos Reason for whole-body humanoid control
NVIDIA announced Isaac GR00T N1.6, an open vision-language-action model for humanoid robot skills, which uses Cosmos Reason to turn vague instructions into step-by-step plans. The company also released Newton, an open-source GPU-accelerated physics engine built with Google DeepMind and Disney Research, and made new open-source simulation libraries available in Isaac Lab.
- GR00T N1.6 enables full-body humanoid control using visual instruction following.
- Cosmos Reason converts ambiguous instructions to step-by-step plans using prior knowledge and physics.
- Newton physics engine, developed with Google DeepMind and Disney, enables complex robot simulation.
- Cosmos Reason has been downloaded over 1 million times.
