NOAA selects Umbra to supply commercial radar data for weather and environmental monitoring

NOAA's Commercial Data Program chose Umbra as a provider of synthetic aperture radar data under a space-based environmental monitoring contract. NOAA can use the data in forecasting models, environmental work and research across agencies and universities.

• Contract runs September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2036 (five years plus a five-year option).
• Falls under the contract's Active Sensors category.
• Radar works through cloud and at night, unlike optical imagery.
