Mitra Chem and Sun Chemical plan joint development of US iron phosphate co-located with LFP production

Mitra Chem and Sun Chemical agreed to jointly develop US production of battery-grade iron phosphate, located alongside lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cathode production. All of both materials are currently made outside the US, 99% in China; the companies have achieved proof of concept and are refining a waste-free process.

• 100% of battery-grade iron phosphate and LFP currently made outside the US; 99% from China; joint development aims to onshore both.
