Merck's sac-TMT improves survival in TroFuse-005, its first positive global phase 3, in endometrial cancer

Merck said sac-TMT beat standard chemotherapy (doxorubicin or paclitaxel) on both overall survival and progression-free survival in women with advanced endometrial cancer that had progressed after platinum chemotherapy and immunotherapy. It is the first readout of the drug's 17-trial global phase 3 program. Detailed numbers will come at a medical meeting.

• 776 patients; dual primary endpoints met at a pre-specified interim analysis.
• Key secondary endpoint, objective response rate, also met; no new safety signals.
• Program: 17 phase 3 trials, 15,000+ patients, 10 trials in women's cancers.
