MED-EL launches TICI UNICO, world's first totally implantable cochlear implant
MED-EL announced the TICI UNICO, the world's first commercially available totally implantable cochlear implant. All components, including the microphone, are beneath the skin. Clinical trials with 30 patients showed comparable hearing to conventional implants, with continuous hearing even while sleeping or swimming. Received CE Mark for Europe.
