Lumentum ships first 1.6T transceivers; 1.6T adoption expected to intensify in 2027

Lumentum reported beginning to ship 1.6T transceivers in Q4 FY2026, while the bulk of its cloud transceiver shipments remained at 800G. The company expects 1.6T adoption to intensify from Q1 FY2027 through calendar 2027 as hyperscale customers deploy custom AI clusters. Lumentum demonstrated two different optical architectures for 1.6T, both enabled by its laser technology.
