ispace's Hakuto-R Mission 2 fails to land on the Moon

ispace's second lunar lander, Resilience, failed during landing on June 5, 2025. Communication was lost at 192 meters altitude near Mare Frigoris. Technical analysis revealed a laser rangefinder malfunction caused the hard landing. This was ispace's second consecutive lunar landing failure.
