IonQ announced a definitive agreement to acquire a controlling stake in ID Quantique, the oldest quantum key distribution (QKD) vendor, for its quantum-safe networking portfolio. The company brings nearly 300 granted and pending patents to IonQ, taking its total IP above 900 patents.
