The US Department of Commerce announced up to $1.5 billion in direct funding for GlobalFoundries to support expansion of Fab 8 in New York and modernization of Fab 9 in Vermont, with additional state funding of $575 million from New York, representing over $13 billion in total investment over 10+ years.
