Gemini Spark agent gains access to the user's desktop Chrome via auto browse and expands to 160 more countries

Google DeepMindGemini in Chrome auto browse

Gemini Spark, Google's background personal agent, can now use Chrome's auto browse in the user's own desktop browser, so it works with logged-in accounts and saved passwords instead of a remote browser. The Chrome link starts in the US; Spark itself reached AI Pro subscribers in over 160 more countries.

  • Example tasks: booking apartment viewings, researching flights.
  • Payments and other sensitive actions still need the user's approval.
  • Spark added MCP integrations and a Mac app for local desktop control.
