France acquires its first quantum computer based on cat-qubit technology, from Alice & Bob

France's GENCI signed at VivaTech to purchase an 18-cat-qubit machine from Alice & Bob, the first cat-qubit computer acquisition anywhere. It will be deployed at the TGCC facility and open to users in 2027 under France 2030 quantum strategy.

• First formal state acquisition of a cat-qubit quantum computer worldwide
• 18-cat-qubit system to be deployed at TGCC facility in France
• Available to researchers in 2027, integrated with Joliot-Curie supercomputer
• Funded entirely by France 2030 HQI investment plan
