First Graphene and Aeropreg agree to develop graphene-enhanced carbon fibre prepreg

Carbon

Australia's First Graphene signed a three-year development and commercialisation agreement with Aeropreg, a Turkish subsidiary of Spinteks, to bring its graphene-enhanced carbon fibre prepreg to market. FGR's PureGraph would be blended in through its epoxy concentrates and added to Aeropreg's existing prepreg process. No launch date is given; it depends on trial results.

  • The agreement runs three years; no other figures were disclosed.
  • Next steps: reach controlled, repeatable graphene loading, then test strength, durability and manufacturability inside Aeropreg's process.
  • If trials succeed, the material would sell through Aeropreg's existing channels in aerospace, automotive, marine and sporting goods.
  • FGR's CEO Michael Bell calls validation within Aeropreg's manufacturing process the immediate focus.
