First 12 satellites of Three-Body Computing Constellation successfully launch from Jiuquan
ADA Space / Zhejiang LabThree-Body Computing Constellation
ADA Space and Zhejiang Lab launched 12 satellites aboard a Long March 2D rocket from Jiuquan, beginning the Three-Body Computing Constellation. The satellites deliver 5 POPS combined computing power, each equipped with an 8-billion-parameter AI model and inter-satellite laser links up to 100 Gbps. Groups 02 and 03 are planned for 2026, en route to a final 2,800-satellite constellation delivering 1,000 POPS.
- Each satellite performs 744 trillion operations per second; 12 satellites = 5 peta operations per second combined.
- Rather than downlink raw data, satellites process information locally where it lives, cutting bandwidth waste and environmental impact.
- Inter-satellite laser links at 100 Gbps allow satellites to coordinate and share computing work without ground control.
- The vacuum of space provides natural cooling, eliminating the energy costs of terrestrial data center air conditioning.
- Final constellation of 2,800 satellites will deliver 1,000 POPS—roughly equivalent to the top 5 supercomputers on Earth combined.
