The brief
- Launched 12 satellites in May 2025 delivering 5 POPS; 2,800 planned satellites will deliver 1,000 POPS total.
- Groups 02 and 03 due in 2026; each satellite carries an 8-billion-parameter AI model.
- Processes data in orbit via 100 Gbps laser links instead of transmitting raw data to Earth.
Technical approach
Process in orbit, not on Earth
Rather than downlinking raw data, each satellite runs AI models locally, reducing bandwidth waste and avoiding information loss from transmission limits.
8-billion-parameter model per satellite
Each satellite includes a space-based AI model to interpret data and coordinate with neighbors without ground control.
100 Gbps laser communication
Satellites talk to each other at high speed via laser, letting them share computing work and results without ground passes.
Space vacuum as natural radiator
Unlike Earth data centers, satellites shed heat directly into space, reducing the energy needed to stay cool.
