EigenLayer launches Stage 1 on Ethereum mainnet, accepting restaking deposits

EigenLayer opened on Ethereum mainnet for restaking: holders of liquid staking tokens stETH, rETH and cbETH, or natively staked ETH, could pledge that stake to secure other services. Deposits were capped at 3,200 tokens per asset with a 7-day withdrawal delay; operators and the services they secure were left for later stages.

• Supported LSTs: Lido stETH, Rocket Pool rETH, Coinbase cbETH; native restaking via EigenPods.
• Deposit cap: 3,200 tokens per asset, 32-token limit per transaction; EigenPod creation paused at ~9,600 ETH.
• Withdrawal delay: 7-day security measure in early stages, designed to mature toward an open system.
• Staged rollout: Stage 1 restaking only; operators and services (Stages 2–3) planned for later deployment.
