Dexter cleared by FDA for ventral hernia repair, its fifth US indication

Distalmotion received FDA 510(k) clearance to use Dexter in ventral hernia repair, backed by its RAVEN study. Dexter now covers what the company calls the top four ambulatory procedures plus a gynecology indication. More than 4,000 patients have been treated with the system.

• US indications: inguinal and ventral hernia repair, gallbladder removal, benign hysterectomy, sacrocolpopexy.
• Clearance supported by the RAVEN clinical study.
• 4,000+ patients treated, up from about 3,000 in late 2025.
