CNSA presents a Jupiter and Uranus mission: two spacecraft on one Long March 5 around 2030
Wang Qiong of CNSA's Lunar Exploration and Space Engineering Center presented Tianwen-4 at the International Astronautical Congress in Paris. One Long March 5 would launch a large Jupiter spacecraft that will orbit Callisto and a small probe of a few hundred kilograms that heads on to Uranus. A Callisto lander considered earlier was dropped from the plan.
- Route: one Venus flyby and two Earth flybys before the craft separate.
- The Uranus probe may also fly past an asteroid on the way.
- Science goals were still under consideration.
