Axoft completed the first-in-human FINESSE trial with four patients undergoing brain tumor resection at The Panama Clinic, marking the first authorization for human use of bio-inspired soft neural implants. The implants reliably recorded 20 minutes of brain activity across different cortical layers and subcortical regions, demonstrating stable single-neuron resolution without signal drift.
