Avalanche mainnet launches with X-Chain, P-Chain, and C-Chain
Avalanche mainnet launched in September 2020 with three interconnected blockchains: the X-Chain for asset creation, the P-Chain for validation and staking, and the C-Chain for smart contracts and DeFi. The network uses the novel Avalanche Consensus Protocol to achieve sub-second finality.
