ARPA-H awards UT Health San Antonio $38 million to lead VITAL-H, the first Phase 3 trial testing drugs to extend healthspan
The Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health awarded UT Health San Antonio up to $38 million to conduct VITAL-H, a nationwide Phase 3 clinical trial testing three FDA-approved drugs—rapamycin, dapagliflozin, and semaglutide—to see if they can delay age-related health and functional decline in generally healthy adults ages 60–65. The trial will enroll 726 participants.
