European Space Agency/PLATO

Engineers at OHB in Germany mounted 24 of PLATO's cameras on the spacecraft's optical bench, with the two fast cameras to follow within weeks. The camera payload module was then to be joined to the service module in summer 2025.

• 24 normal cameras installed; 2 fast cameras still to come.
• Built by a core team led by OHB with Thales Alenia Space and Beyond Gravity.
• Next step: joining payload and service modules.
